In Christchurch, New Zealand, a man who proclaimed to be an eco-fascist murdered 51 people at a mosque. Committed in 2019, he justified his acts with immigrant birth rates.
Another act of violence in 2019 in El Paso, Texas - a shooter who was charged with killing 22 people in a shopping area. He referred to the shooting in Christchurch for his reasonings in targeting a predominantly Mexican-American area as well as overpopulation and “rampant immigration.”
In 2022, a shooter who was also proclaimed to be an eco-cascist, drove several hours to Buffalo, New York, to target Black grocery shoppers.
Biden had suspended work on the border wall, and in 2021 an Arizona Attorney General was asking the court to void the decision to halt border wall construction and for the “Remain in Mexico” policy requiring asylum seekers to wait south of the border instead. The attorney general made a case rooted in anti-immigrant rhetoric that the halt violated the National Environmental Protection Act.
